Standard Issue's Spring Summer 2022 Collection Revealed

Renowned Kiwi design house, Standard Issue, has released its Spring Summer 2022 collection, showcasing timeless designs made mindfully.

Sep 7, 2022

The new collection features consciously selected fibres including new bio-organic cotton, BCI cotton, bespoke linen, and cotton-cashmere.

Founded in 1981, Standard Issue was founded on a desire to create timeless knitwear that is defined by nature and meant to be cherished for a lifetime.

Standard Issue’s latest collection of innovative knit textures is designed in the same manner as all the New Zealand design house’s garments are; to offer timeless style and, in this instance, to compliment the long says of summer.

Featuring consciously selected fibres including new bio-organic cotton, BCI cotton, bespoke linen and cotton-cashmere, Standard Issue says each of these materials has been ‘slow-crafted’ with care to create what the design house terms “forever pieces” that will seamlessly integrate into the considered wardrobe of the wearer.

The label says its innovative knit textures blend with crisp whites and a seasonal inspired palette of cactus, sea and sun. The refined edit of garment weights in the new spring summer 2022 collection have been chosen to move with the wearer through the seasons.

It’s Standard Issue’s design and manufacturing practices that engineer lifetime quality into every piece it creates.

Standard Issue began in 1981 and was founded on a desire to create timeless knitwear that is defined by nature and cherished for a lifetime.

The design house states that every garment bears its consideration for the environment. Innovative production technologies and partnerships allow Standard Issue to eliminate textile waste, with the company using only 100% renewable or recycled natural fibres. Standard Issue makes everything in limited runs to prevent over-production.

The design studio also runs a Care for Life programme which works with the customer to ensure renew, reuse, or repurpose.

Founded on the principals of functional, sustainable design, Standard Issue garments are designed with a complete, circular life cycle in mind. The company says it is dedicated to protecting the environmental footprint of each garment, and taking responsibility for its life, even after the customer has finished wearing it. Customers of the design house are encouraged to return worn garments. They will then work alongside the customer to select its best next step, based on the condition we receive it in.
