Giltrap Group Motorsport Take Another Win

The SIXT Porsche 718 GT4 Clubsport crossed the line first in class and 7th overall
In what’s proving to be a dominating driver pairing, Simon Evans and Marco Giltrap have added another win in the South Island Endurance series 2022, this time piloting the SIXT Porsche 718 GT4 Clubsport to a category win at Teretonga.
It was relatively plain sailing for the Giltrap Group sponsored team at Teretonga. Of the 6 Class 3 competitors entered in the 3 hour race, only 3 teams crossed the line. Nevertheless Evans and Giltrap drove a stellar race and avoided being caught up in a significant first corner fracas that ultimately required a restart.
Simon Evans enjoyed some of the mid-field battles and the challenge of keeping faster cars honest around the notorious circuit. While for Giltrap it was yet another strong drive and race win on his burgeoning career as a driver.
“To finish 7th overall and even ahead of some big names in faster cars, like Greg Murphy, really speaks volumes for the capability of the SIXT Porsche 718, it’s a very good car to drive.” said Evans
The pair now look toward Timaru for the next round. 15th October.
