Aēsop adds luxurious Eidesis Eau De Parfum to Othertopias scent range

Aēsop has released its new fragrance, Eidesis Eau de Parfum, devised in partnership with Barnabé Fillion, a long-term collaborator who is the nose behind the previous three Othertopias scents: Miraceti, Karst and Erémia.

Eidesis opens with rousing top notes of sparkling Petitgrain, spicy Black Pepper and a subtle floral accord, leading to a resinous, spicy heart of Frankincense, Cumin and Cedar, sumptuous Sandalwood, Cedar and earthy, green Vetiver.

Aēsop Eidesis Eau de Parfum is packaged in a 50mL amber glass bottle and encased in a carton featuring artwork by Belfast-based painter Jack Coulter.

Melbourne-based skin, body, haircare and fragrance developer, Aēsop, has released the fourth in its line-up of Othertopias fragrances, with the arrival of the new Eidesis Eau de Parfum.

Aēsop says the beguiling magnetism of Eidesis Eau de Parfum is drawn from myth and mesmeric ingredients. Luring the senses into a landscape of wooded depths, iridescent florals, and liquid stillness, it is one of a collection of distinct fragrances created with long-term fragrance partner Barnabé Fillion titled Othertopias—a collection of transportive scents, inspired by liminal spaces.

For Eidesis, the space is that of the self, and the struggle between the interior and exterior worlds. Borrowing symbolism from the myth of Narcissus, Eidesis honours the imaginary worlds beyond the surface of the mirror—fusing floral notes redolent of the pool or looking glass, with an earthy, woody base of Vetiver, Sandalwood and Cedar.

Like the collection’s existing fragrances, Eidesis is designed for those seeking complex and unique aromas that know no gender boundaries. These are fragrances that invite a dialogue with nature, challenge our perceptions and unlock reverie, says Fillion.

“It could be seen as the most sensual of our fragrances. It works so well with people’s skin that somehow you feel it is a layer that was already there,” he says.

Retailing for $265, Aēsop’s Eidesis Eau de Parfum is packaged in a 50ml amber glass bottle and encased in a carton featuring artwork by Belfast-based painter Jack Coulter.
