Polestar Electric Roadster Concept At The Car Store
The stunning Polestar Electric Roadster concept will be on display in New Zealand at Newmarket’s Car Store during December.

Described as the emotions of performance, the Polestar Electric Roadster is designed to create a true connection between those who love performance and the embodiment of a newer, cleaner version of it; to remind everyone of the joyful, thrilling experience that driving can be.
Until mid-January, Polestar will showcase the original jaw-dropping Electric Roadster Concept to Auckland audiences at The Car Store in Westfield Newmarket.
Polestar has confirmed the concept will become a production vehicle in 2026, and it promises to be an impressive combination of cutting-edge drivetrain technology, dynamic road-holding and contemporary styling.
“With the overwhelming consumer and press response, we took the decision to put this stunning roadster into production, and I am so excited to make it a reality,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the thrill of fresh air with the top down.”
The hard-top convertible will be built on Polestar’s bespoke bonded aluminium platform. Developed in-house by Polestar’s UK R&D centre, it will feature the high-performance, 800-Volt electric architecture already confirmed for Polestar 5. This includes output of up to 650 kW (884 hp) and 900 Nm from a dual motor powertrain, a targeted 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3,2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.
Since its reveal in Los Angeles earlier this year, the Electric Roadster has won the hearts and minds of many around the world and Polestar is eager to demonstrate their new form of open-top electric performance and aerospace-inspired design. It’s fair to say it is rare for any carmaker to make the costly commitment to bring a concept vehicle to New Zealand, fans of the brand, EVs or even cars in general will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of Polestar’s future up close and personal from December 14.
