Deadly Ponies Launch Summer Footwear

Much loved Kiwi label, Deadly Ponies present their first summer footwear capsule; heroing one timeless silhouette, personally designed by Creative Director, Liam Bowden.
Off the success of their first foray into footwear, Deadly Ponies takes the next step, sliding into the summer season a handcrafted, future classic.
“We were humbled by the response to our first footwear capsule back in July, and are pleased to further expand the Deadly Ponies footwear offering, introducing the limited Gansu slide, just in time for summer.” Creative Director, Liam Bowden, says.
Deadly Ponies Gansu slide takes its moniker from The Flying Horse of Gansu, a bronze statue from the Chinese Province of Gansu, Han period, circa 2nd century CE. Handcrafted with a lamb leather upper and with textured bovine leather over a moulded rubber sole, the Gansu slide is available in classic neutral colourways, black and nougat.
‘We want to create footwear that will be wardrobe staples, that embody what Deadly Ponies are known for - sumptuous and sustainable leathers in unique yet classic designs.’ Liam says.
Three bands of lamb leather are wrapped around to create the twisted upper, playing with symmetry and providing comfort built for longevity. A rubber heel detail is designed for extra grip, and embossed logos feature on both the sole and footbed, with all leather sourced from certified gold Leather Working Group partners.
Designed in-house, and constructed with our partner in Dongguan, China, the newest members of the Deadly Ponies stable are exemplars of the brand’s signature quality pieces - timeless, sustainable, and recognisably unique.
