This generation is widely revered by enthusiasts as the pinnacle of M3 development, representing the end of a more analogue era of M performance cars. The E90 is the final M3 to offer a naturally aspirated powertrain and fully hydraulic steering, and is the only M3 to be powered by a V8. The 4.0 litre S65 engine produces peak power at 8,000rpm, rewarding high revs with an incredible V8 howl, and the 7-Speed DCT gearbox allows for both effortless cruising at low speed and rapid fire shifts at high revs.

This incredibly original example was sold by Jerry Clayton BMW in 2012 and is among the very last M3s of this generation delivered new in NZ. Its sole owner has cared for the car over the last 14 years, servicing it annually within the BMW dealer network and garaging it whilst not in use.
