Brock Gilchrist to make Porsche Carrera Cup Asia debut

Brock Gilchrist has secured an outstanding second-place finish in the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia championship, racing for Team Porsche New Zealand. His performance throughout his debut Porsche season demonstrated remarkable skill and ability to be competitive from the get-go in a fiercely competitive motorsport environment.

The championship concluded with a thrilling finale at Sydney Motorsport Park over the weekend, where Gilchrist went head-to-head with his Earl Bamber Motorsport teammate, Oscar Targett, for the championship title. After qualifying in fifth, Gilchrist put on a demonstration of fantastic racecraft in challenging changeable conditions in Race 1 to finish P2. However, Race 2 saw him finish in 16th place after being pushed off the track. In Race 3, Gilchrist finished in tenth place and secured P2 in the championship.

Brock to step up to Porsche Carrera Cup Asia

Team Porsche New Zealand have announced that Gilchrist will be heading to Shanghai this weekend to make his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, competing for the first time in a 992 Porsche GT3 Cup Car. The event will take place at the iconic Shanghai International Circuit in China from October 25 to 27, where he will compete under the banner of Team Porsche New Zealand in collaboration with Earl Bamber Motorsport. This opportunity marks a significant milestone in his racing career as he embraces the challenges of a new series in the latest generation of Porsche GT3 Cup Car.
