Motorsport Recap: Weekend of Enduro Races

• Matt Payne & Garth Tander grab P3 at The Bend • Ryan Wood celebrates his 50th race with a P6 finish • Porsche Endurance win for Ryan Yardley at Road Atlanta • SVG’s NASCAR playoff run ends, but what a rookie season with 4 wins! • Rollercoaster Carrera Cup Aus at The Bend – Marco Giltrap (P10, P10, P11) / Clay Osborne (P13, P7, DNF)

Supercars Championship – AirTouch 500 at The Bend

Matt Payne and co-driver Garth Tander clinched third place in Race 26 of the Supercars Enduro Cup, rounding out an all-Ford podium. This result was crucial for Payne, narrowing the championship gap to 158 points behind leader Brock Feeney as the series heads into the iconic Repco Bathurst 1000 (Oct 9–12).

Ryan Wood and Jayden Ojeda finished sixth, overcoming a top 10 shootout error and a tough first lap. Wood showed strong pace in Sunday’s warm-up and marked his 50th Supercars race with a solid result.

Andre Heimgartner and Declan Fraser faced early race troubles, slipping from their 14th starting position to finish 27th.

Porsche Endurance Challenge North America – Road Atlanta

Ryan Yardley, alongside David Musial Jr., took overall victory in the #213 Porsche GT3 Cup Car. Yardley will return to Road Atlanta in early October for the Porsche Carrera Cup North America, bringing valuable track experience into the next round.

NASCAR – Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol

Shane van Gisbergen’s rookie season playoff run came to an end, missing the cut for the top 12 despite four wins and a strong showing in the top 16. SVG finished 27th at Bristol and will continue racing through to November. NASCAR heads to New Hampshire next for the Mobil 1 301.

Porsche Carrera Cup – The Bend

Marco Giltrap and Clay Osborne had a mixed weekend. Giltrap found consistency with three top-11 finishes (P10, P10, P11), bouncing back from early-season car issues.

Clay Osborne’s weekend ended dramatically after a turn 17 incident involving Marcos Flack, Vidau, and Dale Wood, resulting in major front-end damage. His results: P13, P7, DNF.
