Motorsport Recap: Lawson's best F1 result & SVG success at Coca-Cola 600

Liam Lawson scored his first points in the 2025 Formula 1 season and recorded his best result of his F1 career at the Monaco. “I’m very, very happy for everyone. It was a good race, very straightforward from our side. I’m very happy. It’s not often you have a plan and you execute it perfectly. We were able to do.” Lawson said after the race. Keeping the momentum up the series heads to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Shane van Gisbergen secured his best oval result P14 in NASCAR at the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, North Carolina. With it being the longest race on the NASCAR calendar, it certainly had plenty of big moments with cars crashing out and not finishing. Shane reflected on his season so far: “If I had to sum it up, I guess it’s been difficult, but I feel like we’re getting better every week, we’re still learning,” said Van Gisbergen. “I didn’t expect to go out and get great results on ovals, but it has been very tough for sure. We’ve had a lot of issues at the start of the year with car stuff, pit stops, and myself not being good enough, but I feel like it’s turning around.” Up next is Cracker Barrel 400 in Nashville this weekend.

Scott Dixon unfortunately had brake issues early in the Indy 500 which ruined his chances of clinching another Indy 500 title. Starting fourth on the grid, the issue saw him head to the pits at lap 31 and lose ground on the field. He re-joined three laps back and was chasing for the rest of the race, finishing 20th. Dixon is back on track this weekend in Detroit.
