Motorsport Preview: F1 Monaco Grand Prix & Indy 500

Get ready for two of the greatest races of the year as our kiwi drivers gear up to compete in Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix and Indy 500.

North America

Welcome to the most prestigious weekend in the IndyCar calendar - The 109th Indianapolis 500. Kiwi Scott Dixon, a five time pole winner at the Indy 500, is chasing his second Indy title after winning in 2008. Starting in fourth place on the grid this weekend in his 23^rd Indy 500 race, he is no stranger to the endurance needed to complete a successful race. Tune in to see if Scott will be the one sipping the milk at the end, The 109th Indianapolis 500 is at 4am Monday 26 May (NZ time) – Sky Sport Select.

Shane van Gisbergen is coming off a solid performance at the All-Star weekend on the oval at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Heading to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600. The Coca-Cola 600 marks the 129th Cup race hosted by Charlotte Motor Speedway in the series’ history. The 1.5-mile oval located in Concord, North Carolina has an asphalt racing surface with 24 degrees of banking in the turns and 5 degrees of banking on the straightaways. Europe

Alongside the Indy 500, another Triple Crown of Motorsport race is happening with the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend. There’s something extra special about watching the Formula 1 cars take to the narrow, winding streets of Monte Carlo with the added technical difficulty of the tight corners, elevation changes and the famous tunnel. Watch Liam Lawson take to the track in the Red Bull Racing #30 car at 1am Monday 26^th May (NZ Time) – Sky Sport 1.
