Motorsport Preview: Racing at iconic tracks

Get ready for an adrenaline-packed weekend of racing from Tasmania to Indianapolis and Spa-Francorchamps!

Australia

Get ready for an adrenaline-packed weekend at the 2025 Snowy River Caravans Tasmania Super 440! Supercars return to Symmons Plains after a few weeks break after Taupo. Known for it’s 2.411 km short fast circuit, featuring challenging corners like the turn four hairpin and the left-hander at the end of the back straight. Anything can happen in Tassie but the Kiwi drivers are coming into the round after strong performances in Taupo. Catch Ryan Wood, Matt Payne and Andre Heimgartner in action.

North America

Scott Dixon is gearing up for the big Indy 500 in a few weeks. But this week, IndyCar is in Indianapolis racing at the IMS Road Course for the Sonsio Grand Prix. Competing on the2.439-mile, 14-turn road course that incorporates portions of Turns 1 and 2 and the front straight of the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval. The remainder of the circuit is within the infield.

Indy NXT will also drive the IMS Road Course for their back-to-back Indianapolis Grand Prix Races this weekend. Callum Hedge (#17 Abel Motorsports) and Liam Sceats (#30 HMD Motorsports) will be taking to the track with two races this weekend. With practice, qualifying and Race 1 on the Friday (Saturday NZ time) and Race 2 on Saturday (Sunday NZ Time).

NASCAR is at Kansas Speedway for the AdventHealth 400, racing on the oval track where SVG had success last year during Xfinity, finishing in the top 10. Looking for some more NASCAR? Some 41 cars across four Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America classes are set to take part in the second stop of the season in Monterey, California at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, part of IMSA’s TireRack.com Monterey SportsCar Championship weekend. Brendon Leitch and Anthony McIntosh started strong with the Round 1 ProAm win in their No. 69 Huracán, before a late-race incident took them out of Round 2.

Europe

Brendon Hartley (#8 Toyota Gazoo Racing) and Earl Bamber (#38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA) are Belgium bound for FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. As round three of the championship it is a staple on the calendar and a fan favourite. Nestled deep in Belgium’s Ardennes forest – famous for its unpredictable weather – its undulating, technical and demanding layout unfailingly generates drama, surprises and spills.
