SVG heads to the desert for Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway.

Shane van Gisbergen gears up for his first NASCAR Cup Series start at Phoenix Raceway, with guidance from legends Kevin Harvick and Marcos Ambrose. Ready to conquer the oval after a strong P6 finish in Xfinity Series last year.

It's another unique race to open the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, as the stars and cars tackle the challenging one-mile oval of Phoenix Raceway.

Shane van Gisbergen, driving for Trackhouse Racing, returns to the track for his first NASCAR Cup Series start at the oval after two Xfinity Series races last year. His best result at Phoenix Raceway was a P6 finish, battling back from a P23 start.

“There is nothing like this type of racing anywhere in the world on ovals,” said van Gisbergen. “Every week, even Atlanta a couple of weekends ago, I was learning something every lap. You just have to keep your eyes open and keep learning and trying to evolve.”

Van Gisbergen has revealed that Kevin Harvick, along with Marcos Ambrose, has been a source of support as he prepares for the next NASCAR Cup Series race at Phoenix. Harvick, with his impressive resume including the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series title, the 2007 Daytona 500 win, and a total of 60 wins from 826 races, has been a valuable advisor.

It’s a quiet weekend for the rest of the Giltrap Group Motorsport Drivers as they gear up for an action-packed schedule next weekend with nine drivers competing across Australia and America.
