GT New Zealand Championship Success
It was a successful summer for Team Giltrap Group Motorsport, claiming two championship titles at the GT New Zealand Championship series. Giltrap Group McLaren Junior Scholarship driver William Exton took out the GT4 class in the Artura GT4 race car. Meanwhile, Marco Giltrap claimed the GT NZ Championship and the Porsche Endurance Trophy New Zealand Junior Pro in the Porsche 992 Cup Car.
The second season was held over the summer of 2024/2025 at tracks across the country. Five rounds were contested at Taupo Motorsport Park, Hampton Downs, Teretonga Motorsport Park, and Highlands Motorsport Park, ensuring racing on both the North and South Islands.
The team shone in qualifying, claiming the most pole positions over the season, setting up for success in the weekend’s races for both drivers to convert the advantage into podiums.
It was a season-long tight battle in the GT4 class for William Exton, but he secured the title on Saturday afternoon at the final round with two races to spare at Hampton Downs. Exton heads to Australia to compete in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia for TekworkX Motorsport.
Marco Giltrap dominated the Junior Pro Class and claimed multiple overall race wins throughout the series. Showing speed in his Porsche, Marco used the summer series to prepare for the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia season.
