Motorsport Recap: A lot of trophies to add to the shelf!

Let’s recap a couple of big weeks, our drivers have been busy flying on the world stage across all different continents and categories. Firstly, Shane van Gisbergen has proven that he is the King of the Road – winning back-to-back weekends in NASCAR. Claiming a clean sweep on the streets of Chicago with pole and race wins in both NASCAR Cup Series and the Xfinity Series. SVG dominated the streets where he first claimed a victory at the inaugural round in 2023. Backing up his performance on the Sonoma Road Course, again claiming pole across both Xfinity and NASCAR. Shane got a second-place podium in the Xfinity race before winning the third straight road course in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series. SVG will be back racing on an oval this weekend at Dover Motor Speedway.

Scott Dixon has been proving how he isn’t slowing down one bit in his 25th season of IndyCar. Winning his 59th IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Then following it up with his third podium of the year with a second place in Race 2 of Iowa. The result on the weekend moving Dixon up in the championship rankings to third overall. IndyCar is back on track this weekend, hitting the streets of Toronto.

Mitch Evans made his way back onto the top step of the podium this weekend with a race win in Berlin from a pole position in Round 13. Evans' last victory was at the start of the season in Round 1 - São Paulo. Upcoming is the final round in London at the end of July.

Supercars returned for their country round at Townsville, a weekend filled with racing and rodeo. The street circuit kept its reputation of being a fast and aggressive circuit. Matt Payne shone with a third-place podium finish in Race 21. All three drivers are sitting within the top 10 of the overall championship standings – Matt Payne (3), André Heimgartner (9), Ryan Wood (10). The series heads to Queensland Raceway at the start of August.

Earl Bamber joined his FIA WEC team Jota Sport alongside Jenson Button and Sébastien Bourdais for the São Paulo 6-hour endurance race over the weekend, with a strong start getting P2 in the Hyperpole to set them up to covert that to a second-place podium finish at the end of the six hours of racing. WEC is next at Circuit of the Americas for the Lone Star Le Mans 6-hour race in September.

Brock Gilchrist tackled the quick streets of Bangsaen, Thailand. Walking away with second overall for the weekend after finishing P5 in the first race then P2 in the second race for the weekend. Gilchrist is sitting in 4th overall in the championship standings – even after missing a round due to illness. Next up is Indonesia in late August.
