Giltrap Motorsport gears up for action at the New Zealand Grand Prix

Giltrap Motorsport is set to take on Highlands Motorsport Park this weekend for the biggest event on the Kiwi motorsport calendar—the 69th New Zealand Grand Prix.

Fresh off a near-dominant performance at Teretonga, Marco Giltrap and William Exton arrive at the penultimate round of the GT New Zealand Championship as strong favourites.

Exton was unstoppable in the GT4 class on the banks of the Oreti River, securing pole position in qualifying before going on to win every race of the weekend. His commanding form has given the Blenheim native a comfortable lead in the championship standings, putting him in prime position to claim the title in his debut season.

In the Open Class, Giltrap came close to matching Exton’s feat, taking pole position and securing two race wins before rounding out the weekend with a podium finish in the feature race, crossing the line in P2. The 21-year-old also leads the Junior Pro class in the inaugural Porsche Endurance Trophy New Zealand by more than 400 points.

Highlands Motorsport Park is known for producing fast, close racing, and with the added spectacle of New Zealand’s premier motorsport weekend, expect an action-packed couple of days.
