Kia reveal their first ever ute
Created to bridge the gap between workhorse and lifestyle, the Tasman blends Kia’s futuristic design language and technology focussed interior with the utility expected from a top-tier ute.
Tasman’s bold look stands out among its competition, utilising Kia’s current design language viewed through a rugged lens. The wide grille and bumper give it a strong stance, while the vertical headlight stack make it look like something from the future. Unlike the oversized styling dominating the ute sector, Kia has opted for an exceptionally practical and proportional approach, seen in the functional fender designs and clean lines.
Inside, Kia has prioritized comfort and space. The Tasman’s cabin offers plenty of room, equipped with dual wireless charging pads, hidden storage compartments, and adjustable rear seats that ensure ample headroom and legroom. A sweeping display houses three screens and the latest iteration of Kia’s infotainment system, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Customers who want to push the off-road capabilities of the Tasman can opt for the X-Pro variant, which features increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and multiple terrain-specific drive modes to take on challenging trails.
A 2.2L diesel will be the main powertrain on offer down-under, producing 154kW and 441Nm of torque. While down on torque compared to some competitors, the Tasman still achieves the all-important 3500kg tow rating.
The Kia Tasman delivers on versatility and aims to set new standards in the lifestyle-oriented ute segment. Designed for durability, comfort, and a broad range of terrains, Kia’s first ute invites drivers to “Dive into a New Dimension” in style.
