Lamborghini Urus SE debuts down under

The Urus SE is Lamborghini's first plug-in hybrid Super SUV, blending the brand's iconic performance DNA with a nod toward sustainability.

Featuring an 789hp powertrain and an impressive 60 km electric-only range, the Urus SE stands out as the most powerful and eco-conscious Urus to date.

Under the bonnet, the Urus SE houses a familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, but this time it’s paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 789hp and a staggering combined output of 950Nm of torque.

Lamborghini didn’t just slap a battery on the Urus; they’ve re-engineered it to fully integrate the electric power, allowing the hybrid SUV to hit 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h. That’s supercar performance, and the Urus SE holds the crown as the fastest production SUV in its class.

Lamborghini has also introduced a cutting-edge electric torque vectoring system that offers on-demand power distribution between the axles and a new rear differential for improved handling. The SE’s battery pack sits low in the vehicle for optimal weight distribution, contributing to its impressive agility and stability.

In terms of design, Lamborghini has made the Urus SE even sleeker and more aerodynamic. The front end sports a new bonnet and an aggressive grille design, while the rear features taillights inspired by the legendary Gallardo. A new rear diffuser and spoiler increase downforce, enhancing stability.

Inside, the Urus SE is just as luxurious and tech-focussed as you’d expect, with an updated 12.3-inch touchscreen and a refreshed dashboard that makes you feel like you’re in the cockpit of a fighter jet.
