OCTA to be most powerful Defender yet
Defender is forging a new path forward as its own brand, no longer just a Land Rover model range. The self-proclaimed adventure brand is celebrating their new-found independence with the launch of their first hero-model, the Defender OCTA. The OCTA will be the most powerful Defender to date, featuring a 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8, producing a massive 635PS and 750Nm of torque.
This powerplant can rocket the OCTA from 0-100km/h in just 4.0 seconds, making it not just the most powerful Defender, but also the fastest.
Featuring what Defender have dubbed ‘6D Dynamics’, the OCTA comes with intelligent suspension and heavily reworked chassis components, including a 28mm higher and 68mm wider stance. This makes the OCTA more capable both off-road and on-track than the standard Defender.
More aggressive bodywork gives the OCTA an imposing presence that speaks to its performance. But it’s not all about looks, extended wheel arches support the wider track and the unique grille designs allow for greater airflow under the bonnet.
New Performance Seats arrive for the OCTA with more supportive bolsters and integrated headrests to support the significant increase in performance.
You’ll be able to see the Defender OCTA driven in anger for the first time when it makes its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (11-14 July).
Local pricing and specification for the Defender OCTA is yet to be announced.
