Aesop and Rick Owens have announced a new limited-edition collaboration.
The range consists of an Aromatique Candle (available in three sizes) and a Travel Kit featuring a quartet of body and hair care products, a jersey wrap, and the specially created Stoic Eau de Toilette with accompanying ceramic beads.
Aesop and Rick Owens have long expressed their mutual admiration for each other’s distinct approach to design. Both built on a desire for serenity, a dedication to simplicity and an appreciation of considerate, nonconformist design the synergy between Aesop and Rick Owens is evident and is embodied in the intriguing forms and fragrances.
The Travel Kit comprises of carefully curated contents. Including Owens’s favoured formulations—Coriander Seed Body Cleanser, Resolute Hydrating Body Balm, Classic Shampoo and Classic Conditioner—the Kit also holds a captivating fragrance, to be experienced in a variety of ways. Explorations of adornment carry through to the jersey wrap that enrobes the Travel Kit. It is crafted from certified organic cotton, a material which has become a hallmark of Owens’s designs. Worn as a wrist-wrap or bandana, it features a co-branded dual grosgrain strip—another signature of Owens’s garments.
The Kit also contains Stoic Eau de Toilette, developed in partnership with perfumer Barnabé Fillion. Spicy aromas of Black Pepper and Coriander Seed reflect the radicality of Rick Owens, while Frankincense and woody notes conjure the equanimous spirit of Aesop.
The final offering of the collaboration is the Stoic Aromatique Candle, which is available in three sizes: 65g, 240g and 620g. Following the same design principles as Owens’s furniture collection—particularly the blending of the futuristic and the ancient—the ceramic vessels are inspired by the sculptures of Constantin Brancusi and Dadaist Hans Arp.
