“There will be huge interest” – Transport Minister on the Polestar 2 Transport Minister Michael Wood was one of the first New Zealanders.
Transport Minister Michael Wood was one of the first New Zealanders to get behind the wheel of the Polestar 2 this week, ahead of first deliveries of the all-new Electric vehicle. “It’s great to see EV’s like this coming on to the New Zealand market, performs really well, and from what I see, there is going to be huge interest in vehicles like this” was Wood’s first reaction after driving the Polestar 2.
Wood’s chose to drive the Single Motor Long Range Polestar 2, which is eligible for the full Clean Car Discount of $8625, an incentive he helped introduce to encourage uptake of EV’s “We need to de-carbonise New Zealand’s transport system, we all want to take action to stop climate change and improving our fleet by shifting to clean vehicles like this one is one of the most important steps we can take.”
With New Zealand’s first customer deliveries of Polestar 2 beginning next week, the Minister complimented Giltrap Group for investing in putting these cars on New Zealand roads, and encouraged kiwi car buyers to “Get into these vehicles and play your part.”
