For Giltrap Group, being a great New Zealand company has always meant contributing to the communities around us.

Since Giltrap Group began in 1966, giving back has grown alongside the business. It is a family value shaped by our founder, Sir Colin Giltrap, whose contribution to New Zealand extended far beyond the automotive industry. His lifelong support of philanthropy and motorsport was recognised with a knighthood, and the values he established continue to guide the Giltrap family and Giltrap Group today.

Today, Giltrap Group supports charities, schools, sport, environmental initiatives, community and non-profit organisations across Auckland and New Zealand. The philosophy remains simple: support good people doing good things, nurture potential from the grassroots and help build stronger communities for generations to come.

Our community support reaches across many areas, from helping young New Zealanders realise their potential to supporting medical research, protecting our environment and providing practical assistance to people facing hardship. We aim to contribute where support can create a meaningful and lasting impact.

Environment

Caring for our community also means caring for the environment we share. From improving the efficiency of our buildings to helping grow New Zealand’s fleet of electric vehicles, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We also support organisations such as Te Korowai o Waiheke and Young Ocean Explorers in their work to protect New Zealand’s natural environment.

Health and Wellbeing

Supporting the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders is an important part of our community involvement. We support Starship Children’s Health, Plunket, the Malaghan and Liggins Institutes, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and Melanoma New Zealand in their work across care, research, education and prevention.

Sport and Grassroots

As proud Kiwi sports fans, we love seeing New Zealanders take on the world across a wide range of sports. Over the years, Giltrap Group has supported athletes at the highest level, alongside grassroots school sport, helping the next generation develop and progress.

Starship Supercar Show

The Starship Supercar Show brings together Giltrap Group’s passion for extraordinary cars with an important cause.

Held three times to date, the event takes over Giltrap Group HQ in Grey Lynn for one weekend, giving enthusiasts the chance to experience an exceptional collection of supercars, race cars and classics while raising vital funds to support Starship and the children and families it cares for.

A legacy of giving back

The Giltrap Trust

Established in 2013, the Giltrap Trust carries forward the Giltrap family's longstanding commitment to philanthropy and supporting the communities around us.

With Lady Jenni Giltrap playing an instrumental role, the Trust supports registered charities and grassroots organisations across health, youth, education, community wellbeing, the environment, arts, culture and sport, recognising that meaningful change can begin at any scale.

At its heart is a belief in backing good people, helping strong ideas grow and creating a positive impact that can endure for generations.

The Giltrap Trust currently considers sponsorship applications from registered charities based in Auckland.
