MG unveil pricing for petrol-powered ZS

MG has unveiled pricing for its upcoming petrol-powered ZS models, following the success of the Hybrid+ range. The new lineup consists of three variants, with the entry-level ZS Excite priced at $29,990 plus on-road costs (ORC).

Sitting above the Excite is the ZS Essence, starting at $32,990 (+ORC), while the top-of-the-line Essence Turbo is priced at $34,990 (+ORC). All three models will be available for purchase from early February, expanding MG’s ZS offerings and building on the positive reception of the Hybrid+ line.

The ZS Excite and Essence both feature an 81kW/140Nm naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a CVT transmission. Fuel consumption for these models is rated at 6.7L/100km. Meanwhile, the ZS Essence Turbo boasts a more powerful 125kW/275Nm engine, also mated to a CVT, with a slightly higher fuel efficiency figure of 6.9L/100km.

While full specifications will be revealed closer to launch, MG has confirmed that all models will come equipped with the iSmart safety suite, satellite navigation, smartphone integration, and push-button start. The compact offers a luggage capacity of 443 liters, which expands to 1457 liters with the rear seats folded.

The Turbo variant also features a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 360-degree high-definition surround camera, and PVC seats with heating and power adjustment for the driver. In comparison, the Excite and Essence come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a reversing camera, and cloth upholstery.

Like all MG models, the new ZS range is backed by the brand’s impressive 10-year/250,000km warranty. Contact Giltrap MG for more information.
