Volvo unveil EX30 Cross Country
Revealed in a remote Swedish winter cabin, with a literal fireside chat alongside outdoor gear brand Fjällräven, the Volvo say that the EX30 Cross Country isn’t just a car, it’s an experience. Packaged with accessories and gear designed to help owners make the most of their adventures.
The EX30 Cross Country takes Volvo’s smallest SUV and makes it more capable. Ground clearance is increased, bigger wheels are standard, and an optional set of 18-inch all-terrain tires is available. All-wheel drive comes as standard, ensuring grip in mud, snow, and whatever else nature throws at it.
Powering this adventure-ready EV is the same setup as the regular EX30, with up to 427km of range and rapid charging that takes the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 26 minutes.
The EX30 Cross Country doesn’t just perform—it looks the part. Skid plates, black wheel arch extensions, and a dark-colored front shield give it a tough aesthetic. A unique topographical design on the front panel pays tribute to Sweden’s Kebnekaise mountain range.
Inside, the EX30 keeps things practical. Storage is cleverly designed, from large door compartments to a sliding central storage tunnel. Even the rear has a removable, washable bin. Google integration ensures seamless navigation, and Volvo’s app lets you preheat the cabin before you leave your tent or cabin.
Volvo launched its first Cross Country model in 1997, designed to handle Scandinavian winters without sacrificing comfort. The EX30 Cross Country continues that legacy. More than just a rugged SUV, it comes with an optional Cross Country Experience package—offering accessories like a roof basket, load carrier, and all-terrain tires.
“We know that more and more people are seeking ways to get closer to nature,” says Volvo CEO Jim Rowan. “With the Cross Country Experience, we aim to create an entire ecosystem supporting our customers as they embrace adventure.”
