Mar 29, 2023

The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has been revealed by GM Specialty Vehicles, with the new model offering significant enhancements inside the freshly restyled cabin environment, advancements in exterior aesthetics and the introduction of the first-ever ZR2.

Director of GM Specialty Vehicles, Greg Rowe, says the new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will help people to 'Live Big', whether towing a caravan or boat, off-roading, or simply getting from A-to-B in a premium full-size truck.

“The first-ever ZR2 will become a go-to vehicle for those who want to adventure off the beaten track but the suppleness and refinement of the vehicle means that the journey is as enjoyable as the destination. The inside of the Silverado has been fully redesigned and features a sweeping horizontal instrument panel that makes the cabin feel more spacious and gives it a premium feel,” he says.

The exterior of the new MY23 features a redesigned front-fascia complete with new daytime running lights. But, the biggest and most immediate change is an entirely new interior.

New premium features include a 13.4-inch-diagonal colour touchscreen and new 12.3-inch-diagonal configurable digital instrument cluster and the introduction of an electronic transmission shift control now located on the centre console.

Both the LTZ Premium and the ZR2 feature the 6.2-litre EcoTech3 V8 engine, the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class with 313kW of power and 624Nm of torque.

When towing, the 10-speed automatic transmission provides seamless and smooth transitions from gear to gear.

Safety is at the forefront in the 2023 truck, with both models offering a comprehensive suite of active and passive advanced safety technology and driver assistance features.

Some of these standard features include Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System with Traction Control and Forward Collision Alert with Low-Speed Automatic Emergency Braking. The trucks will be available in nine different exterior colours.

Pricing for the 2023 Silverado LTZ Premium is $144,000 plus on-road costs, and $149,000 plus on-road costs for the Silverado ZR2.

“The new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado will cement itself as the benchmark for those who want to 'Live Big' as they tour and tow around the country in comfort and style, as well as adventure off-road in the absolute best GMSV has to offer,” concludes Greg Rowe.
