Bentley Auckland and Princess Yachts New Zealand ‘launch’ new collaboration
Among all the launches at the Auckland Boat Show this weekend, there’s one that celebrates a global partnership between two iconic British manufacturers both on water and land.
Bentley Auckland and Princess Yachts are very pleased to announce the ‘launch’ of a new experiential collaboration here in New Zealand, mirroring a global partnership and deep mutual appreciation of craftsmanship between the brands for a number of years.
Princess Yachts are distributed in New Zealand by Sports Marine and represent the very best in luxury marine out of Britain and like Bentley, Princess Yachts are steeped in heritage. With part of their 1.1 million square foot shipyard built on a former naval yard dating back to the 17th century, Princess Yachts have been crafting the best of British superyachts since 1965.
Princess Yachts’ philosophy is Experience your Exceptional and stepping aboard on of their yachts on display, you certainly get a sense of how that’s incorporated into their product. There is a distinct focus on detail, craft and quality. Timber edges are finished with perfection, joints and gaps are uniform throughout the entire vessel and the aesthetic blends the best of time-honoured techniques with contemporary design and cutting edge technology. Which of course aligns well with Bentley’s own attention to detail and engineering strengths.
The activation is brought to life on-the-water with a floating Bentley Continental GT Speed that has been, very cautiously, lifted onto a pontoon and moored in a marina berth for the duration of the show.
“Unsurprisingly there’s synergies with our customers here in New Zealand, so being able to officially collaborate with Bentley at the Auckland Boat Show and to celebrate the artisan qualities that go into our respective products has been fantastic. We look forward to working with the Bentley Auckland team on experiential endeavours in the future.” Says Princess Yachts New Zealand Marketing Manager, Jack Ludemann.
That sentiment is also shared by Bentley Auckland. “There was no hesitation about replicating the Bentley and Princess Yachts collaboration here in New Zealand, we see this as the start of some extraordinary activity between the brands in the future.” Says Steve Fulks, General Manager, Bentley Auckland.
The two brands have partnered globally at a number of premiere boat shows like Cannes as well as in automotive endeavours with Princess Yachts livery previously adorning Bentley’s Continental GT3s racing in the Blancpain GT Series in Europe, Pirelli World Challenge in the USA and China GT series in Asia.
In 2017 Bentley’s commissioning division, Mulliner, even developed a Princess Yacht inspired special edition Continental GT. The Galene – named after the Greek Goddess of calm seas – featured a Glacier White exterior with a flash of Sequin Blue on the lower brightware, emulating the styling lines of a contemporary Princess super yacht hull.
Bentley Auckland and Princess Yachts New Zealand will look to entertaining clients at future cross activation experiences on sea and land.
