Through a reductive process, shapes, and forms prominent in the sculpture of Mid-Century sculptors Beverly Pepper and Clement Meadmore, were explored and refined to create a concise 14-piece collection of bold yet highly wearable jewellery.
The Catena collection is available exclusively at Kowtow and Monarc Jewellery now, with individual pieces priced from $80 - $260.
Taking inspiration from the bold, geometric forms of Mid-Century sculptors Beverly Pepper and Clement Meadmore, Catena is a contemporary collection of demi-fine earrings and rings presented by Monarc Jewellery and Kowtow.
An extension and celebration of the brands’ shared vision to create positive fashion and wearable keepsakes, the designers say the collection is born out of conversations had between Kowtow’s Creative Director, Marilou Dadat, and Monarc’s Founder, Ella Drake, over the course of a year.
“When I design jewellery or select pieces to wear for myself, I am drawn to sculptural forms that have a strong presence, yet they remain simple and non-invasive,” says Ella Drake. “For the Catena collection, Marilou and I began brainstorming fresh iterations and configurations of Monarc’s signature styles.
“An overarching theme for all Monarc collections is a sense of universality – easy to wear in various combinations and on various occasions.”
This design ethos is evident within the Catena collection, which echoes Kowtow’s concept of a modular wardrobe made up of foundational building blocks.
