R.M. Williams celebrates 90 years

To commemorate the 90th anniversary the brand have special celebrations planned including limited-edition merchandise all with a focus on the ‘Legacy of Australian Craft’.

Your chance to win one of just 90 limited edition R.M. Williams boots

R.M.Williams was founded from humble beginnings in the South Australian bush, Reginald Murray Williams first crafted an elastic-sided leather boot in 1932 – a product that would later become synonymous with authentic outback dressing. Establishing a full factory at Percy Street in 1934 and later a new workshop at Frost Road in the 1970s, where production currently remains.

Now celebrating its 90th anniversary, a capsule collection of limited-edition products will be released to mark the milestone, including boots, belts, apparel and lifestyle items.

 

Limited-edition Craftsman, Lady Yearling boots and Jerrawa belts are complete with 90th anniversary trims and a commemorative plaque, styles will be made on demand and handcrafted, as always, in the Adelaide workshop.

 

The range also showcases new T-shirts and sweatshirts for both men and women emblazoned with unique 90th anniversary branding. All styles have been crafted in Australia – the t-shirts in collaboration with Good Earth Cotton, the world’s first carbon positive cotton company.

Also new for 2022 is an ideal gift for the maker or craftsperson. The ‘Makers Kit’, comes complete with the materials, tools and instructions needed to craft a durable leather cover for RM’s classic book, The Bushman’s Handcrafts.

 

A limited-edition care tin will be also available, perfect for brand loyalists, new boot owners and anyone looking to get the most out of their R.M.Williams boots. The tin includes the Stockman’s Shoe Polish in black or chestnut, plus Leather Conditioner, Brush and Polish Cloth.

 

The 90th anniversary capsule will be available online and in store from 24th May 2022.

 

In acknowledgement of RM’s birthday, May 24th will be recognised as RM Day by the business, with a competition running to win one of 90 pairs of limited-edition boots.

To be in with a chance to win, people will be encouraged to share an image of themselves wearing their favourite R.M.Williams boots, showcasing the diverse ways in which the boots can be styled. For each entry received, the business will make a $5 donation to Thread Together, a charitable organisation that offers clothing and support to Australians in need, $5 is the cost to provide a vulnerable person with a new wardrobe of 26 items.
