New Zealand leading Automotive magazine NZ Autocar has named the Polestar 2 overall winner of its 2021 Car of the Year.
Second award for Polestar 2 in New Zealand, hot on the heels of Stuff Motoring awarding it Top Car of 2021
Since its New Zealand launch in November, the Polestar 2 has earned praise from both owners and motoring press; for its standard-setting quality, safety, performance and zero-emission driving.
The Car of the Year honour follows Stuff Motoring naming the Swedish electric performance fastback their Top Car for 2021. Along with the overall award, Polestar 2 was also named the best of 16 new EV models eligible for judging.
The NZ Autocar Judges were "all thoroughly charmed after stints behind the wheel." and described Polestar 2 as "a very well rounded, polished package…a most worthy overall Car of the Year."
Polestar New Zealand Brand Manager Bruce Fowler said, "This second significant award for Polestar 2 is a further vote of confidence for the country's newest car brand. Every day, more and more people are being won over by Polestar 2's incredible combination of refinement, style, performance and zero-emission motoring."
The Standard range Single motor and Long range Single motor models qualify for the maximum government Clean Car Discount rebate of $8,625; Polestar 2 also proves a winner when it comes to value.
The NZ Autocar Award is well known for favouring great drivers' cars. All models released during the calendar year are eligible, with vehicles ranging in price from $28,000 to $215,000, making up 2021's nine finalists.
The award comes as Polestar opens its innovative Polestar Space inside Auckland's Westfield Newmarket. Along with viewing and configuring their own Polestar 2, customers can also take a test drive from the Mall.
