The Enyaq iV is Škoda’s first full battery electric vehicle and follows the plug-in hybrid Octavia iV and Superb iV into the New Zealand market in 2023.

Škoda will add to both its e-mobility and SUV portfolios in the New Zealand market in 2023, with the arrival of the fully electric Enyaq iV.

Heralding an entirely new model line for the Czech brand, the Enyaq iV promises new features and design elements mixed with the traditional practicality the manufacturer is famed for. Škoda says the new electric SUV will feature a generous interior, smart technologies, and an emissions-free range of up to 510km (WLTP cycle).

The Enyaq iV’s long wheelbase (2,765 mm) and relatively short front bonnet makes it clear that the interior will be spacious, while the muscular sides and gradually descending roof line are designed to aid with aerodynamics.

The Enyaq iV is similar in size to the traditional Kodiaq SUV, but offers even further dynamic style, including an optional Crystal Face radiator grille. Here, the traditional Škoda grille is enhanced with a crystalline effect and is backlit with a total of 130 LEDs that give the car a unique “light signature”, elevating the Coming/Leaving Home functions to unique animations.

Škoda says the ENYAQ iV will offer a wealth of safety features, state-of-the-art assistance systems and lots of connectivity to Kiwi drivers. But it has not turned its back on a traditional strength of Škoda cars. Much-loved ‘Simply Clever’ solutions, such as the popular umbrella in the driver’s door, or the traditional ice scraper, remain onboard. There is even a cleaner for the charging cable, so users don’t get dirty when recharging.

The boot also has a false floor, so small items won’t move around. The SUV’s design has also allowed room for two large storage compartments, including a 6.2-litre box under the centre armrest and another 11.4-litres of storage space under the centre console.

Enyaq iV safety features include emergency braking in the presence of oncoming cars when turning left, warnings about possible collisions with cyclists or cars when opening a door, active assistance for avoiding obstacles, and nine airbags.

Further Škoda Enyaq iV specification details will be available in early 2023.
