Partridge Jewellers opens doors to new luxury boutique within Westfield Newmarket’s home of luxury.

Oct 19, 2021

New Zealand’s oldest family-owned Jeweller, Partridge Jewellers, are moving into New Zealand’s newest home of luxury. The sprawling premium Westfield Newmarket retail space.

The new store will be three times the size of Partridge Jeweller’s existing Newmarket location.

Established in 1864, Partridge is New Zealand's oldest family-owned jeweller. With a reputation built on six generations of experience, Partridge has made a name for its Hallmark brand of exquisitely crafted jewellery as well as representing some of the world's most sought-after names in watches and jewellery. That heritage is extended into New Zealand’s latest generation’s retail environment with a new store opening in Westfield Newmarket’s Home of Luxury.

The next chapter in Partridge’s iconic 150-year history will be within the heart of New Zealand’s premier retail and lifestyle destination, joining a host of new flagship boutiques elevating New Zealand consumer’s retail experience on a scale previously unseen.

Known for carrying many of the most sought-after names in luxury watches and jewellery, including its own Hallmark jewellery, the new boutique, scheduled to open in December 2021, will mark a new era for the business.

The new boutique will offer a new and improved retail experience for shoppers thanks to a space that is triple the size (250sqm) of its existing Newmarket store. The considered design will cater to the varied needs of the Partridge customer through dedicated watch and jewellery areas, and ultra hospitable surrounds where visitors are invited to browse items and discuss their needs in privacy and comfort.

Grant Partridge, fifth generation owner and member of the family behind the name, says of the new opening, “At Partridge Jewellers, we have always been proud of the company we've kept and our new boutique opening later this year in the luxury level of Westfield Newmarket will be no different.

“As the only New Zealand-owned brand sitting within this area of the Westfield development, we can't wait to deliver a stunning lineup of watches and jewellery amongst some of the world's most renowned names in luxury retail.”

The new boutique has been conceived by leading interior design firm, Izzard Design, which has recently completed fitouts of Partridge Jewellers’ Queen Street & Lambton Quay stores.

Its design sits between the contemporary and the traditional, reflecting the idea of modern luxury in the materiality and ambience of the space; a rich palette of natural veined marble, velvets and aged brass creates an indulgent backdrop to the jewellery.

Senior Designer Hannah Davies comments, “We wanted to invite people into a space that had a sense of hospitality, slow down the pace of retail, you can sit at the bar and really enjoy the experience of buying a beautiful piece of jewellery or a watch.”

The expansive new space will create an opportunity to introduce many new brands to its Newmarket offering including DeBeers Forevermark, Omega, Cartier, Panerai, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Breitling and Chopard, which will join the likes of Grand Seiko, Tudor, Longines, Tag Heuer, and popular Italian jewellery marques Fope & Roberto Coin. Coveted Swiss brand Piaget will also be making a New Zealand debut within the space.

The new store will open in December 2021 with the previous Newmarket location being retired early 2022.
