Lamborghini Auckland gets behind Movember

COVID-19 restrictions mean Lamborghini Auckland can’t hold an in person ‘Bull Run’ event, but that isn’t stopping the local dealer getting behind the men’s charity.

They have commissioned local artist to create a one-off Lamborghini bonnet live in their dealership window and it will be auctioned off to support the hard-working charity.

As part of a global effort by Lamborghini dealers to raise awareness and money to support the Men’s Health charity Movember, Lamborghini Auckland has engaged a talented local artist, Marcus Watson, to create a unique design on a Huracán EVO bonnet, to be auctioned with all proceeds donated to the men’s charity.

Showing its human side, Automobili Lamborghini has collaborated with Movember to raise funds and awareness for men’s health through Bull Runs taking place worldwide on November 6th.

And although, due to the COVID-19 restrictions and adhering to the local regulations, Lamborghini Auckland is unable to hold an in-person Bull Run event, they are eager to participate in the cause and championing the Movember initiative, they have commissioned artist, Marcus Watson, to produce a one-of-a-kind art piece on a Huracán EVO bonnet.

The bonnet will be auctioned with all proceeds donated to the world’s leading men’s health charity and the entire process will take place live in the front window of Lamborghini Auckland showroom at 119 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, on 6th November.

It will also be live-streamed for audience to view on Lamborghini Auckland’s social media platforms.

Watson has a reputation as one of New Zealand’s most talented creative individuals among the new generation. The 28-year-old self-taught artisan, specialising in murals, graphic art, hand-painted lettering and exploring traditional motifs with a modern setting, was commissioned due to his wildly creative and bold illustrations which are made with pure passion, quality and an extra level of care.

Francesco Scardaoni, Regional Director for Automobili Lamborghini in Asia Pacific said: “We are pleased to join the Movember initiative on a regional level by bringing a sense of togetherness among our strong community of clients while supporting a good cause.”

Ben Dallas, Brand Manager at Lamborghini Auckland is confident the that the Marcus Watson art-piece will be a winner for the Men’s Health Charity and says, “To be able to turn what is already an automotive art piece, into an actual work of art, is really exciting. Lamborghini’s support of Movember has already had an impact on me and I will be making my first ever attempt to ‘grow-a-mo’ to raise funds.”

Movember started in 2003 and is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. The charity raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programs that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives.
