Porsche releases teaser image of next-gen 911 GT3

Porsche has shown off a teaser image of the next 911 GT3, due to be officially unveiled in mid-February.

Feb 11, 2021

The next 992-generation version of the 911 GT3 will feature a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six. Rumours suggest maximum power of over 372kW (500hp) can be expected.

The 911 GT3 reveal will be livestreamed at www.newstv.porsche.com/en/ to a global audience on February 16th at 3,00pm CET (February 17th, 3,00am New Zealand time).

The wing remains the thing in Porsche’s latest teaser shot of the forthcoming 992-generation 911 GT3.

The German manufacturer is set to unveil its latest GT3, replete with enormous rear wing, on February 16th (European time). The unveiling will be livestreamed to a global audience via the carmaker’s dedicated video news site.

It is expected the new GT model will carry over the engine from the previous generation car: a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six. This same engine was utilised in the 911 Speedster, where a new exhaust system, individual throttle bodies and a high-pressure direct injection system saw peak power of 375kW attained. Similar levels of power are anticipated from the new GT3.

Other than the GT racing-inspired ‘swan neck’ wing set-up seen in the teaser image, most other technical details for the new 911 GT3 remain unknown.

New Zealand market specification and arrival details will be revealed at a later date.
