Crownline for the cool water

Perfectly suited for day tripping out on New Zealand’s tranquil lakes, or around the idyllic islands of the Hauraki Gulf, more Kiwi families are switching across to the comfortable, multi-purpose configurations that are a headline feature of bowrider style craft.

The bowrider form factor has been immensely popular in the United States for many years. Among the top manufacturers in that part of the world is Crownline. With well over 20 bowrider models available and distributed in New Zealand exclusively by EuroCity Marine, Crownline has come to be known as specialists in this design.

What makes a bowrider different? Firstly, there is no cabin for overnight stays. This is much less of a compromise in practical terms than many might realise: in reality few Kiwi families utilise a trailer boat’s cabin overnight as it’s often not practical to do so.

Instead, in lieu of a covered cabin, a bowrider features a sunken seating area up front which affords more open and relaxed seating. Consider it an outdoor Sunlounger and furniture setting on the water, ideal for sunbathing and enjoying the open air.

Larger Crownline bowrider models such as the E 275 XS also incorporate a private enclosed and well-appointed head (bathroom). Others in the halo XS Range can also be specified with an onboard cooker and sink for food preparation out on the water.

Crownline’s bowriders are offered across several model series, each with unique attributes.

The SS Series offers elegance and spaciousness with stern drive, while the Eclipse Series retains stern drive but adds Crownline’s patented responsive F.A.S.T. Tab hull for an optimum ride.

Meanwhile, a dedicated Surf Series offers a game-changing surf experience assisted by today’s best tech to dial in the ideal wake. Wake Worx surf tabs and a smartly designed centre ballast system – featuring two additional bags (with Quick Disconnect hardware for easy filling) – optimises the height and length of the wave to provide the perfect wake surfing experience.
